THANK YOU I NEVER RECIEVED MY BOOK. I WOULD REALLY LIKE YOU TO SEND THE BOOK TO ME OR SEARCH TO FIND OUT WHY i DID NOT RECIEVE IT.
Excellent book But one can take their life back. This is one of the best book written so far for therapiest as well as layperson. It goes into greatdetail about the borderline personality disorder, whether you are one, a daughter or son ofparents that have this disorder and also the people you work with that might be borderlines.Books like these are not easy to read because it reaches you heart and soul and thatcan be painful.
Even when the funnel cloud is whirling away somewhere else, I still feel an overwhelming sadness that I can't help more, and that despite my best effects the chaos in their lives will continue, and maybe ruin their career and relationships. Here are three pdf articles from new research studies that actually give Non's some hope that BPD might be controllable or at least the chaos reduced. The pdf''s can be downloaded. It also turns out the fish oil supplements prevent adolescents from developing schizophrenia. The fatty acids actually worked on my BPD and the chaos stopped. Those findings might help a loved one. I think I've read every book written on borderlines, or at least most of them.
The EPA is the important number when calculating the amount to take. Use the EPA as a guideline for how many pills to take per day. Arctic Pure Ultra Potency Omega 3 Fish Oil 2 pills is 1700 mg of fish oil which contains 900 mg of EPA. It's doubly sad that someone with BPD would choose to live in the chaos rather than taking a simple supplement with no side effects.
Hope these articles help someone else. This book helps.I think the biggest benefit from reading these is to remind myself that I have to remain dispassionate while my BPD close family member lives in chaos. Amazon kills the web addresses so type into Google the following titles and open the link. I've seen many positive results following the use of these supplements. That's fine. Just read the summary of the research I've posted.
You can then download the full article pdf file. Now the papers are starting to come out supporting that.
Docosahexaenoic Acid DHA is another Omega 3 long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid found in fish oil. It can be ordered from the Source Naturals Catalog, or use any good quality fish oil as long as the supplement level is 900 mg or more of EPA.
Omega-3 Fatty Acid Treatment of Women with Borderline Personality DisorderDiminished Implusivity in Older Patients with Borderline Personality DisorderOmega-3 Fish Oils Tested as Preventative Approach to Schizophrenia, with Positive ResultsAlmost all of the studies are based on using 1 gram or more of Omega 3 which is Ethyl Eicosapentaenoic Acid (E-EPA). Sometimes the chaos and negativity gets directed at me.
I hope they help others, but it's going to take years and years before the psych community adopts their use. I know some people reading this review won't believe what I just said.
Then they decided they didn't need them because there was nothing wrong and stopped taking them. Schizophrenia, BPD, bi-polar, chronic depression, dyslexia, and ADD are all related so if fish oil helps dyslexia, ADD and chronic depression, which it does, there's strong probability it should help BPD and Schizophrenia.
But I DID get endless, endless self-references to the authors' other works. What she doesn't have are strategies for dealing with it, and maybe, if we're lucky, we'll find a mental health professional who can walk her through a program of DBT (Dialectical behavior therapy). The entire book was superficial, general, generic, devoid of specifics or any kind of organizational structure that would help tie it all together. They self-cite their other books on average about once every five pages. My wife has BPD. You know how, when you're reading a book, the beginning of a chapter will often consist of an overview, some talking points, maybe a high-level overview of the material to be covered in more depth in the remainder of the chapter.
They NEVER DID. In the meanwhile, though, I went into this book hoping to learn some coping strategies to help myself help her and try to minimize the amount of time we spent in pointless arguments and fights.Didn't get any of that. Okay, now imagine an ENTIRE BOOK made up of nothing but high-level introductory overview material. Unlike a lot of BPD people, she knows she has BPD. It smacked of multi-level marketing seminars where they keep trying to rope you in to buy additional manuals and stuff and you keep hoping that the next one you buy will be the REAL one, the one with all the stuff you're really after. My advice: don't buy this book. As I read it, I kept waiting for the authors to say "OKAY, now that we've done the overview, let's really get into the meat of the material" and you know what.
In a sense, it was like reading a term paper written by a high school student who started the paper at 10 pm the night before it was due and compensated for the lack of material by triple-spacing each page.
A must have for anyone who has a borderline person in their lives. It's a tool.
